Qualcomm Inc (NASDAQ: QCOM) soared roughly 20% on Monday to print a new 52-week high after announcing two new artificial intelligence (AI) chips \u2013 AI200 and AI250 \u2013 for enterprise data centres.<\/p>\n

These chips are engineered to handle the ultra-demanding AI workloads, including large language models (LLMs) and generative artificial intelligence systems, the company confirmed in its press release<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Although AI200 won\u2019t be commercially available until next year and AI250 until 2027 \u2013 investor cheered the firm\u2019s strategic pivot away from its smartphone chip business and toward the booming AI infrastructure market.  <\/p>\n

Following today\u2019s rally, Qualcomm stock is up more than 60% versus its year-to-date low in April.<\/p>\n
